She was an Angel, in beauty, in making me feel at ease, I wrote a story about her, it was selected as the best story...;))
( she had a tremendous impact on me Jamie, I met her later when I was 16...;))

My kindergarten room was this vast space of opportunity. I remember having a lot of unstructured playtime and all kinds of activity centers to try. I know I played in the kitchen a lot. I also did dress-up, read, painted, and played with the sand/water tables quite a bit. The school I went to really invested in kindergarten, not at all like schools do now. The classroom was like three rooms long and was totally packed with things to explore.

  • lol :) I may be exaggerating a wee bit ... I tend to do that ;) I did get put in a supply closet one time ... But I like to let people think it was most of my kindergarten years ... So I get sympathy points ;)  This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at May 30, 2017 12:09 AM MDT

one of my teachers, but I don't recall her name, cause I don't recall anyone's name..
and just.. this sense of awe at the world, everything was so new and incredible.. it was overhwelming, but in a good way.. and I didn't have to decide how I felt about it.. just be there.. seeing how people operate, how things exist. I can no longer get the same feeling again.

  • Maybe one day you'll get that feeling back ... I have no idea your age. But I'm guessing you're early 20's .. you'll feel it again :)

    G. My new friends. I was terrified of the teacher.
My mother, who had been a teacher herself, said of her, "Monica is a very good teacher - but far too TOUGH for kindergarten."
The following year she was moved up to fourth grade.

I never went to kindergarten, or play school or nursery school as they might have been called here.. Formal school started when I was 4 but there was nothing before that.

    G.  The toys.

I remember my first day, walking in with my best friend, and seeing all the toys we were allowed to play with.  I didn't have too many toys as a kid so this was a huge deal for me.
