Make them into a pie.  Make them into an omelette.  Or throw it out for the birds.

Well, the big lunks are alright...I suppose, can't say as I ever really looked at 'em for cuteness, though.

The trash can is conveniently located close to the refrigerator for just such an emergency.

I usually cook enough for two meals when it's just me here.  That way I don't have leftovers beyond a day or two.  I don't feel bad to discard them though.

I'll often eat something 2 or 3 days running.  Beyond that, Friday is scraps night and the pups appreciate whatever is left.

I ask the server for a doggy bag and eat them for lunch the next day.

  • there's almost never any leftovers around here, unless it was not a very good meal in the beginning. that rarely happens, but in that case i usually store them in the fridge until it's time to take out the garbage. i don't like smelling room temperature, decomposing leftovers inside the house. blech! buuuut... if the leftovers are pure vegetation, and not meat, i'll toss them outside to compost.

True, leftovers quickly decompose in room temperature, yes veggie peels etc make good manure!
