Another CNN employee fired because of Trump hatred. Will they have anyone left by the end of Trump's term?
CNN fired Reza Aslan after tweeting: This piece of s*** is not just an embarrassment to America and a stain on the presidency. He's an embarrassment to humankind.
The 1st Amendment applies to government. The government cannot impede free speech. It does not apply to the private sector. Nor does it protect people from the consequences of speaking freely.
I know that. But there seem to be certain instances where many people are okay with firings over speech and times when they're not (and act as if it's a violation of free speech). It's usually a hypocritical matter.
CNN lies constantly, so it should be out of business. All media have biases, but some are worse than others. If you want to try to find truth, you have a difficult chore with all news media tying to hide whatever suits them. It is just now that this problem has been made so very public. Some of us knew of it long ago however.
Nyet, I have no reason to be biased and lie! Politicians all lie, and so do news media. Anyone who imagines CNN or any other m edia is always truthful is quite naïve,
You are quite naïve if you trust any news media. Does Fox News lie? CNN lies for the left, and Fox News lies for the right. You probably say Fox News lies but ignore CCN's lie. I know they both lie. I am far more objective than you can ever be.
So you are far more objective than I can every be?
Given the recent posts we have exchanged, I think you would have a hard time stating the basis for such an evaluation---but both I and the others reading them enjoy a good laugh occasionally. So, "Thank You!"
I don't see Trump as being a reason for Reza Aslan's "firing."
Raza said in a statement:
".....I recognize that CNN needs to protect its brand as an unbiased news outlet. Similarly, I need to honor my voice. I am not a journalist. I am a social commentator and scholar. And so I agree with CNN that it is best that we part ways. I look forward to partnering with another platform in the future to continue to spread my message. I wish CNN all the best."
