Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» What are the chances that a Republican-dominated Congress will actually draw up Articles of Impeachment? Will Congress DO THE RIGHT THING?
Why do you think it would take that long bh? They impeached Clinton. They were gonna impeach Nixon but he resigned. Why SHOULD IT TAKE THAT LONG? Thank you for your reply and Happy Monday! :)
The investigations are ongoing m2c. FBI, SENATE and HOUSE. Some of them are of a CRIMINAL nature. So for you to make such a statement as that is premature if not wishful thinking and BASELESS at this time. Trump has already committed an impeachable offense . Read the EMOLUMENTS section of the Constitution and you will see that is true. Professor Lawrence Tribe, Constitutional Professor at Harvard, says that. I didn't invent it to annoy you. Now I think Professor Tribe knows more than you do about what is impeachable and what is not. The moment Trump was sworn in he was guilty of that. You may choose to ignore it but it is The Republicans who keep hammering away about the importance of following the Constitution. Yet you all ignore it when it is convenient for you. SIGH. Thank you for your reply and Happy Monday! :)
Let's read the section of Article 1 of the Constitution: “No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”
President Trump is not employed by the Trump Organization so it would not apply to him. Just as I own my business...I am not an employee of my business I don't receive an emulument from my business or from my customers. So again no, President Trump has not committed any impeachable offense.
What proof is there of an impeachable offense? The only thing is media accusations. All the hearing still have not produced any evidence. Even Comey has stated no evidence of any Russian collusion.
Wait till there is some actual proof of a impeachable offense. Guilt by accusation is what third world countries do.
Read The EMOLUMENTS clause of the Constitution. The moment Trump was sworn in he was guilty of that and it is an impeachable offense. I am not the authority. Nor are you. Harvard Constitutional Professor Lawrence Tribe is the one who brought that up. If you think you know more than he does about The Constitution of the United States of America and what is an impeachable offense you are living in lalaland. Just because you and other like-minded individuals refuse to acknowledge it doesn't mean anything. Thank you for your reply Deaves and Happy Monday.
They're just waiting for the left to fake some kind of honorable pretext for them, so they don't look like the scum they are.
The left know they have no case against Trump but they don't need one. They just need to have Trump found guilty in the court of public opinion so the average RINO republican **** can stick the knife in without ending their career.
If Comey's weak ass testimony is the best the left has got to back their lies, then keep dreaming. People who are afraid of catching a perjury charge make poor operatives.
Obstruction of justice is an impeachable offense. Study a little modern history - it wasn't the bugging of the DNC that sunk Nixon, it was his obstruction of the ensuing investigation. Never mind his racketeering at Trump U, his interference with public records, his libel of Barack Obama, his assaulting the leader of an allied nation and his conduct unbecoming a President - it is his leaning on the FBI that will see Trump impeached.
You act as if the right is saying "Ok, he obstructed justice. So what? That's no reason to impeach someone!" No, we assert it's all bullsh*t.
Nixon was impeached by hard evidence. Trump's case is pure hearsay. Did you even listen to Comey's weak testimony?
He admits that the articles claiming that Trump asked for his loyalty or that he was leaning on him over the Russia investigation were false. He admitted that Trump isn't even being investigated.
He simple alleges that Trump said “I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go. He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go.” He says he interpreted that as an implied order.
Comey admits he was too much of a coward to actually take issue with the statement at the time. He replied "I agree he's a good guy". If he had any balls he would have asked the president directly "Are you ordering me to drop this investigation?"
Are you seriously claiming that a man who said nothing until was he butthurt over being fired is a reliable source?
Noses are being counted behind the scenes even now. Backing a Prez whose apprival is minus is probably not a good move if you're keen on hanging on to your OWN job and there are plenty of Republicans who cordially detest the boss. I'm betting on either McCain or Pence to move that way, but not until they're sure of the numbers.
I agree the establishment hates Trump and as soon as they think they can get rid of him, they will pounce. And yes McCain will be all over it along with Lindsay Graham.
The ELECTORATE hates Trump and the Republicans are headed for a train wreck at the midterms if Trump remains at the helm. Timing is crucial - too early and Pence's "honeymoon period" is over before the voters go to the polls. Too late, and the lingering resentment towards Trump will not have worn off yet.
No the ELECTORATE does not hate President Trump. He would not have won if that was the case. Yes liberals hate President Trump. But not by any means does the ELECTORATE.
He won because the voters didn't take him seriously so didn't bother showing up to vote. They won't make that mistake again. Even at that Trump didn't get the popular vote, but the Electoral College is gerrymandered to hell so he got in anyway.
Everyone knows that candidates get elected through the Electoral College, this is nothing new. Hillary should have campaigned a little harder. Obama even said she didn't campaign hard enough to win the EC.
The electoral college is not gerrymandered at all. It is only divided by the states. With the exception of Maine and Nebraska which have districts. The rest of the states are winner take all...no gerrymandering at all in Federal elections.
And you know this how? The election is not an accurate measurement. Less than 60% of eligible voters actually vote. The election is just the results of those who bothered to vote.
The important thing is only seven states are still controlled by democrats. That is the driving force behind the decline of the democrat party and their socialist/communist agenda.
The people rejected across the country what the current democrat agenda is. All the media hype will not change what is going on in this country. The media can act like Provda all it wants but the voters are seeing what is going on their own neighborhoods and reject it.
