That could very well be true! I don't know enough of Eminem but, to me, he's in no class close to Pink Floyd.
    Thanks, Slartibartfast!

I could have said Icehouse, Queen or the Beatles, but Floyd did some unmitigated cr@p (particularly early when they were all off their nuts on acid) as well as their brilliant stuff - even the worst of it wasn't as bad as Eminem.

On the contrary, Mozart is timeless after more  than two centuries, all the boy bands will be totally forgotten in twenty years.

  • What?  Who will be forgotten?

Anyway I don't know anything about the BSBs.  Just popped into my head.  Opera is too much screeching,

You've been listening to too many half-a$$ed sopranos trying to be colaraturas is my guess. The true colaratura is rare, most singers can't cut it and try beyond their range - and yes, it's a screech.

I played Papageno in a local production of Die Zauberflöte (the Magic Flute) years ago - he's a baritone, something like the vid posted.

  • "Colaratura"?  Like a child's art book?  I'm confused.

A coloratura soprano has the ability to hit and sustain notes above C6, with a tessitura from A4 to A5 or higher - your average soprano has a tessitura below G5. Classical music term.

Thanks for answering, whistle6 -- I do add that I agree with Slartibartfast about the half-a$$ed sopranos! Ha! I recommend, too, The Magic Flute.
    :)
And I like several songs by the Backstreet Boys, even if you don't know anything about them. Thanks for your fun answer.

Pff. He doesn't sing, he just talks - with the vocabulary of a drug-addicted amoeba. There is never a need to descend to lyrics like "motherf***er" just to make it scan.

Rap is crap, get the news fool
It got no tune and that ain't cool
White fellas tryin' to be niggas are a joke
That dude ain't gangsta, just a limp d!ck bloke
So learn to play an instrument or shut the f**k up
Or yo' be beggin' fo' change an' gettin' nothin' in yo' cup
    Word.

I admit I generally am not easily drawn to rap.
    That's quite the poem there!

I sometimes like the extremes of questions like this and the thoughts of everyone. I don't know very much of Eminem's stuff.
I don't think I may agree, though, ha! I think there'd be more songs by others that I would like before Eminem's worst. Yet, again, I admit I haven't heard a lot of his music. Thanks for answering, carbonproduct!
