I admit this is a trite answer to your fine question but my answer is still sincere. The first thing to come to my mind when I read your question was the recording here that my parents had -- I listened to it a lot growing up and I cherish (and choose to maybe dwell on it) the memory of hearing this song, any time I hear it, almost as if it were the first time every time I listen.

I don't think it's the least bit trite. You think of your parents. I think that is very sweet. Whenever I hear "Bye bye Blackbird" or "When the red red robin starts bob bob bobbin"( which I rarely ever do they're so old and of long ago) I think of my dad. Those were his favorite songs a I recall. Thank you for your reply WQ! :)

I have a tendency to remember the good.  In a fairly long life, I've many good and bad things happen, but the good has far outweighed the bad.

I read somewhere once upon a time that remembering the good is a human tendency. Block out the bad. If true I think that is very healthy. Thank you for your reply Lulu'sMom and Happy Monday! :)
