Pheasants are lovely birds. non native I think, but could be wrong, to the UK. They raise them so posh people can shoot them... not really anything I would approve of.. these are rich nobs so it's not like they need them to eat.. it's done for sport.
Yes I do! We have them where I live. Every once in a while, usually in spring after their chicks hatch, I see them all crossing the road when I am driving. We also have ruffed grouse and american woodcocks. I see those more often. All beautiful birds.
As a kid in the 50's, our rural fields ran wild with them. You heard them more often than you saw them. Nowadays, I rarely see them, like once every few years. They are not a true native bird, but were introduced to the U.S. by some guy who brought them over from Japan in the 1800's.
