The crime is aggravated assault/battery. Plus the woman has some mental issues if she thinks this is fun to do. So she is a danger to society and needs to be separated from others she would do harm.

The punishment varies from state to state for aggravated assault/battery. I think five to ten years should give her time to figure out that behavior is wrong.

The crime in Pennsylvania is harassment (assault) which is a third-degree misdemeanor. 18.27.2709 Pennsylvania Code 2010  She could serve up to one year in jail.  They came back and added another count of disorderly, which is also a misdemeanor.  That means she COULD (but will not) get two years locked up.   This post was edited by Thriftymaid at June 29, 2017 4:08 PM MDT

Prison is an expensive and inefficient means of punishment. If she is of sound mind, she should ideally receive a dose of her own medicine. I have heard of human rights, but she hasn't recognised the child's rights so should forfeit her own. Being lily-livered about this is an expensive luxury calculated to line lawyers' pockets.

If she is not compos mentis, treatment is appropriate.

Prison is not the best solution but you must protect others from violent behavior. You cannot just use the eye-for-eye punishment if it does not stop the violent behavior in the perpetrator. Protection of others is the objective of punishment. If the punishment deters future violence then great but that is not the usual result.

Separating the violent from the benevolent is the best way we have now to protect the majority of people.

That video's gone. Here's another that isn't live action nor narrated well. If the narration is correct, I don't think the lady or her boyfriend are very nice people as he was hitting on a 12 year old. It don't appear that the 28 year old just did it for kicks but more out of a jealous rage?
