Is there any particular etiquette re missed parcel deliveries that are left with neighbours? I am never sure

For instance... is one supposed to charge round to the neighbour as soon as one gets home to demand the parcel is handed over... or should we wait until the neighbour is ready to bring the parcel round?  I've kinda done both.. but is one considered more correct than the other?

I would say neither. I would not expect my neighbor to deliver the package to me.
And I would not demand the package either.
I would either call or knock on the door and ask if they received a package of mine. (Say I received a notice of delivery...but it is not at my house)

Sounds good... I guess I didn't mean *demand* as such... I just mean should one go straight round there as soon as one gets home... or wait a while...

To me that would depend on the time I got home. I was too late I would wait. Other than that I think all that matters is if you are polite when asking.

Well if I have your package, I don't mind your dropping by and asking for it.  What are neighbors for?  To me the idea is to treat your neighbor the same way you would like to be treated.

After all, this parcel thing can go both ways in the favor department.

Just go get the darned thing.  LOL   It saves them the bother.

Excellent answer...  I have one neighbour who never answers his door... so i tend to wait for him to bring it round... there's another neighbour I always do go and collect the parcel...

I don't think it matters, as long as you are polite, and you get the thing in the end.
