That apostrophe makes the word "legislators" a possessive plural noun, yet within the context of what you've written, it's supposed to merely be a plural noun. In order to be possessive, an item or object that refers to it would have to be identified IN the sentence.

What do you have against proofreading your drivel before posting it, or against editing after posting it?

Um, Randy, could you show a little respect, please? Rosie has told us many times that she has an English major. Perhaps she knows things that you don't.

Butchering my beloved English language is not a skill, it's a travesty.
