  • I do not know of any languages that do not have compound words. Compounding seems to be a basic form of derivation that all languages utilize. Some languages may lack certain types of compounds (i.e. some may abound in noun-verb compounds but have few or no noun-noun compounds), but you'd be hard-pressed to find a language that does not contain some form of compounding.
