went about his business. Ok, why is the so-called flowerbed you dug six feet long, four feet wide, and with the toe of a man's shoe sticking out of the dirt at one end?"
Well, detective, I was just doing my job as a responsible citizen. You're familiar with this tilde guy, right? ... He did what?!? Oh. My. Word. I knew this was serious, but I had no idea. Covered in Vaseline, no less? Some people have no shame.
...So, I suppose you'll just be marking this down as "followed up on" and I won't be seeing you again, right? ... Oh, of course, I'll be present at the annual Officers' Charitable Dinner. I wouldn't miss it for the world.
