Is there a certain age of children that makes you uncomfortable? Why?

I suppose this question is directed at those who may already have somewhat of an aversion to children. >.< But to answer the question myself, I feel uncomfortable around children in the 5-10 age range. I don't know what to talk to them about or how to keep them entertained at this age!

From infants to about 8 years old. Very annoying. It's a guy thing.

Once I grew into an adult kids scare me. And disgust me. I guess I'm the opposite of a child molester.

I used to be uncomfortable around babies. It got better after I had my first child, but I still wasn't comfortable around all babies. After my second one was born, I was more of a natural.

I often joke that my oldest was built like a linebacker at birth so I didn't break him.

I suppose once you're a mother it kind of switches! I love babies but they're terrifying to me in the sense that I'm afraid I will destroy them with just the slightest mistake. Linebacker babies don't make me as nervous though ;)

Yes. The adult kind of child. I call them a 'man-child".

  • If you want me to get specific, though...REALLY specific... Girls aged 12-15 drive me nuts. Yeah...cute, loveable, blah blah blah..but OMG...the drama and loony tunes that comes from them I can seriously do with out. Early Teen girls should be kept somewhere sound proof until they understand what "STFU" means This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at July 14, 2017 3:44 PM MDT

Not only understand what it means but adhere to it until further notice.
It's the adhering part they seem to have a problem with.

Really? Why is that? :) Even as a child I always wanted to be around adults instead of other kids!

I don't particularly like junior high aged kids.  Bless their hearts.  They aren't little kids and they aren't teenagers but they want to be.   I'm not alone here.

It's a hard age! And I remember being at that age I didn't particularly like myself much either.

No, I like kids at any age. Adults are another story.
