    That's a great "take" on my question, carbonproduct, thanks!
    -- sort of turns it into a "Which Came First?"-type of question. It does seem to be true- - some people who deal with depression whom I know are very funny. I guess it wouldn't matter -- all four characteristics I mentioned in my question might be in some people all at the same time. Probably not a lot, I'd think.
    I just know I use humor in my life as a toll to managing anxiety.

    Hi WelbyQuentin. I have battled depression my whole life and use humor to keep me from coming to a complete stop. I dont know what I would do without my belly laugh. ;D
