  • I can't remember the last time I've seen anyone with a flip phone.

I have a smartphone, an iPhone specifically. I've been using iPhones since high school.

Samsung Galaxy S5. About the cheapest that does what I need it to, I require an Android device to log the jobs I do - the software was never developed for Apple.

Aren't they all "cell" 'phones? The word is short for "cellular", describing the way in which the service networks are arranged.

"Flip", "Smart" etc all refer to the design of the model of what is still a radio-telephone at heart.

[In the UK, they are called either by their trade-names like iPhone, Smart phone or for other models and generically, "mobile", not "cell" phones. That is thanks to the Great General Public and the trade itself being as ignorant as whoever in the first place, did not know the difference between mobile and portable: the 'phones are really the latter! ]

Flip phone until about six months ago. Then I finally broke down and got an iPhone.

    Now I'm hopelessly addicted.
