Does the cashier own the store?

Nope. He/she is just a cashier.

Then no; she or he has no control or responsibility for pricing.  You can tell her that you think the prices are outrageous and ask that she let management know, or ask to see the owner/manager.  Or be quiet and pay up.  :)

    Hell to the NO.

I don't give anyone who is stuck waiting on the public any abuse ever.

Of course not, but I would either speak with the owner or manager or just shop somewhere else.

Thank you.  I think people who take it out on the cashier are just frustrated.  Sometimes, if it's a chain store, there really isn't anyone to vent on.

Never. I know what it's like to be abused by idiotic customers for things I have no control over. I'm just a lowly drone, go whine to the boss.

  • No, I would not say a word. I would just leave quietly and shop at other stores. cashiers do not choose prices.
