I haven't seen any that cannot be explained logically, fun though.
There's many ancient books on magic, Solomon had a ring that commanded demons. The goetia, the lesser keys of Solomon, and the Key of Solomon. Also the ancient Jewish magic of Cabala. Then you have the Druids, they used holly wood for wands, which is why America's greatest entertainment empire is Hollywood, although more Hollyweird. Of course you also have the magic of Disney.
Many actors say they use method acting to get into character, other's call it channelling, does it have anything supernatural about it? I wouldn't like to find out. Does make you question who you are, if you can lose yourself so easily, maybe that's why we find so many African masks, and why the rich have masked balls, maybe getting into character allows you to lose yourself.
Africans found it relatively easy to convert to Catholicism as in Vodu the Loa/lwa spirits became represented by the Saints, in vodu, the spirits take so-called possession of participants.

Magi also comes from magician, translated to wise men in the bible, but normally linked to Zoroastrianism. Following links might interest you, I think I've taken a different line of thought to maybe what you was looking for.

Magic could also include ritual, take for example the 2012 Olympics, we had the full moon at the bottom of the Olympic rings
A full moon in magic often means completion. There was also a phoenix at the end of the ceremony flying down to it's sacrificial victim.
Quite macabre for some. The Phoenix represents new beginnings. The phoenix is also associated with the sign of Scorpio, other creatures are serpents and eagles. The tribe of Dan is the zodiac sign of Scorpio. Scorpio is described as a rebellious tribe.
I know the magic circle use slight of hand work, which use to spook and impress people in the days where we weren't so logical and liked that bit of mystery, it kept a prisoner of war alive...
