Mmm... I'm getting hungry thinking about it. Two pieces of grainy bread, fried vegetables (tomato, yellow onion), and plenty of cheddar cheese, all melty and toasty and delicious.
sourdough bread, Muenster cheese, Irish butter, smashed flat, like a panini.
Great bread, sliced on the thin side, toasted, buttered on both sides, soft cheeses added with mostly American. Maybe a nice thin sliced tomato in there. Then toasted in the frying pan to finish. Did I say butter? Make sure it is crispy on outside and buttery and cheesy and melty in the inside. Simple.
Or not.
Thick sourdough slices grilled dark with mayo instead of butter on the outside. On the inside, a thin layer of whipped chive & onion cream cheese with some shredded Monterrey Jack.
First I saute some banana pepper rings until the edges start to brown up
Slice up some Cabot New York Extra sharp cheddar
Use real butter on two slices of whole wheat bread
Put the sandwich together with the banana pepper rings, extra sharp cheddar, and several healthy shakes from a bottle of Louisiana hot sauce
Throw it in the pan and cook it until the bread is very dark brown and just starting to char and blacken
that guy is a food-science genius! i wish i could get some lunch at his house.
Lame answers. The perfect one is the one you make for me. We shall share it.
Oh one that contains bacon.
mmm... ba'con! you've just changed my gc recipe.
One that has a thin slice of white onion it - 2 slices of kraft possessed cheese, Then fried in a cast iron frying pan with lots of butter until it's a little bit burnt. Cheers!
A nice Coke with lots of ice
Take your pick, they're all great; although the ones that Stoney's has are particularly righteous.
Or maybe you could serve such to the young lady you pine for? ;>)
Pizza!
Seriously, many of the recipes people posted include common pizza toppings (onions, tomato, basil, etc.). So, if you're going to put cheese on bread with tomato, onions, and peppers, why not just make a pizza?
Favourite bread: wholemeal heavy rye with carraway seeds.
No butter or marg. Maybe sometimes olive oil.
Cheese: smoked rind, gruyere or ripe camembert.
Grilled or toasted, not fried.
Extras, not grilled: avocado, finely ground parsley, black pepper.
Ooooh...I never tried that, but that does sound delicious!
I'll be right there, Sharonna. Make sure it's hot.

My grilled cheese is not going to win any awards for taste, but if you need a really quick one with no real mess, here you go.
Throw two pieces of your favorite bread in a toaster and lightly toast. Get your sliced cheese of choice and melt it on a plate in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Just spread the glob on your toast and there you have it! Quick and easy.
