I stuff them under my car seats to use them as garbage bags. I produce a surprising amount of trash in there and I don't want it just scattered about in my car.

I line the small trashcan in my bathroom with plastic retail bags but not the guest baths.  I hardly ever get them because I get paper bags from the supermarket.

Clean, unused black plastic trash bags can be used for that too - provided that you-know-who isn't wearing them ... This post was edited by Slartibartfast at August 1, 2017 12:55 PM MDT

The woman in the heading photo: trying to suffocate herself is she...?

The Co-op (UK chain) has for a long time printed all sorts of alternative use (not 'alternate' - different meaning), on the cheaper types of their bags.

Rubbish bags, wrappers for paint-brushes, disposable gloves,... I tried to find one to quote but couldn't. Must have used them all.
