The most haunting piece of music I ever heard was Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber. I first heard it played at Grace Kelly's funeral and it was the theme song from Platoon. I don't know how to post a video, but this is the link.
Another person asked, so, should you ever want to post a video:
On YouTube, just below the video, below the red "Subscribe" button, it says "Share." Click on that and copy the link.
Back on AM, look just above where you're answering now. It says "Insert." There's a drop down menu where you'll see "Insert Video." Click on that. Paste the link there.
Sometimes the videos get stupid and you have to go back and try them later. And there are some that just won't post. Guess I'm just insanely persistent. ;-)
I don't have the patience to keep trying something that isn't that important, so I just move on. I someone really wants to see/hear the video, they can put the link in their browser.
It's not classical music in the proper sense of the word but I seem to have this stuck in my head for the last few days.. I wasn't really a fan of fleetwood mac before Stevie Nicks but this is lovely...and rightly was a big hit for them.
When I was five or six my father used to play it over and over to me as a lullaby. And I used to hear it all cuddled up to him. When I visit him later today I'll relive those childhood days with him. Thanks so much for evokig those memories.
