Rarely is music more exciting and beautiful.

I discovered this piece earlier this year and became addicted. I put it on a lot while I'm working. It sounds beautifully sad, yet hopeful at the same time, no? From what I could gather, the composer was inspired by the ocean when he wrote it. Rolling, majestic, tragic.

Do you listen to Yiruma? Another wonderful instrumentalist.

Nice choice, Slartibartfast! I've read in more than one place, different authors, saying basically the same thing -- that this piece may be "The Prettiest Music Ever Written."

Yes, that's part of why I like it so much. It's a rather simply-put-together piece but oh-so-effective to me! And I love the repetitive piano part. though you probably already know it, it's the main theme to the first "Halloween" movie.
