What do you think Trump would do if he wanted to be elected Pope? What would be his strategy?

Ha ha what an Idea... I think Trump would be ruled out before he even started his campaign.. I think Pope's are supposed to have led an exemplary life full of good deeds.. Trump on the other hand has led a life full of sleeze, shady deals and bad deeds!

But if we ignore all that.. he would probably try to fire the Italians up with enthusiasm somehow.. the Italians are a very passionate lot, hot tempered.. so that might be easy... but they tend to be pretty smart and savvy so perhaps they would soon see through him.. Unfortunately for him it's not the people who decide who will be the next pope

Well, he would have to espouse some principles that would allow him to somehow be mistaken for a Christian. If someone accused him of being a Christian today, there would be absolutely no proof to convict him.

You do realize that Mr. Trump missed that boat a long time ago when he chose a secular life rather than the Roman Catholic priesthood as a vocation?

Most priests have a little on the side.  I'm sure Trump can get the pope to annul all his previous marriages and he can disown his kids and say they had a different father.  He has money, he lies, he can work it out.

Buy himself a Pope mobile with a speaker on the roof then drive around Vatican city and bad mouth the pope that he is running against. Cheers!

If I told you what you sound like right now, I'd get thrown off here.  So, I acquiesce.  Sure, maggie, keep defending the Donald.  The racist pig of all pigs.  Go for it.

how is this defending him? you asked a what if question, and I simply pointed out the story that ran recently about Hillary basically going religious. just a coincidence I guess.
and what is it exactly that makes you think hes so racist? nobody accused him of that until he ran for president...google it.
wait...same people that said Hillary was going to win and all the people that voted trump are sorry they did..
maybe you heard it from jimmy kimmel.. am I right? This post was edited by maggie at August 20, 2017 6:35 AM MDT

You are so filled with misinfo that I am not going to start correcting a person like you.  Meaning?  If you really can say this NOW?  There is NO turning back for you.

He has been making racial slurs so much WORSE than anything he has done recently that you are just blinded by the Trump propaganda.

Whatever he does, you got an excuse.  Saying he did not do something is as insipid as saying Hitler did nothing either.

    I mean really.

Nazis marched into a public square and shouted JEWS GO HOME and get out of my country.

There is NO defense.  STOP RIGHT THERE.  JUST QUIT IT.

You keep calling Trump a "racist pig" but you never offer any credible evidence to back that claim. What's up with THAT?

Well, the white supremacists in Charlottseville were chanting "hail Trump," so they certainly regard him as their Fuhrer!

Yeah, right . . . And I'll bet most of the few rabble-rousers in C-ville celebrate Christmas so that makes Christ and Santa Claus "racist pigs" too. (By the way, do you even know where C-ville is located and why it might have some siginificance?)

And what about all those idiots that showed up there with red flags sporting the hammer and cycle? You didn't see those scumbags in the news reports, did you? What are they? (A LOT more people were exterminated at Stalin's Socialist hand than the Third Reich Socialists would ever dream of eliminating,, but that's OK, right?

Ya well... we know Trump is a fan of the Ruskies too, so that there are people there who are in support the Hammer and sickle are hardly out of keeping with White Supremacists  - what are we missing here.. all roads lead back to Trump..

"Wasn't quite sure what you meant by Third Reich socialists...The Nazi party are referred to under that name.. but not the Third Reich... and as we know that regime, (for it is a time period rather than a party) of the Third Reich were specifically. and let's not forget this, responsible for the slaughter of 6 million Jews alone, without the other deaths.  Hardly a bunch of fluffy bunnies.

    Yeah, right.

Where's your evidence that Trump is a fan of the Russians? (You do realize that the hammer and sickle on a red background was a symbol to the Socialist/communist USSR, not to the present-day Russian Federation, No? On the other hand I can easily show collusion between the Clintons (rmember Hil-LIAR-y) and the Russians. (Where did a quarter of the USA's uranium reserves go?)

And I thought that you didn't like Wikipedia. So why did you draw part of your response to The Third Reich reference from some of their very first paragraph on the subject? (It's obvious that you don't actually know the history of that time period.)

"Nazi Germany is the common English name for the period in German history from 1933 to 1945, when Germany was governed by a dictatorship under the control of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party (NSDAP). Under Hitler's rule, Germany was transformed into a totalitarian state in which the Nazi Party controllednearly all aspects of life. The official name of the state was Deutsches Reich from 1933 to 1943 and Großdeutsches Reich ("Greater German Reich") from 1943 to 1945. The period is also known under the names the Third Reich."

So you got it wrong. The Third Reich and the Nazi Party are virtually synonymous. (Hint: there were no other legal political parties in Germany after Hitler came to power.) And do you really believe, REALLY, that with the Nazis, the National Socialist German Workers' Party, (were you even aware of the correct name for the Nazi party?) you can separate the Socialism from the barbarity just because it's inconvenient to the way you think? History (that subject you selectively ignore) has repeatedly shown otherwise with disastrous results for a LOT of people (200-million dead and still counting).

There is amply evidence Trump is enamoured of the Ruskies.. you know that even if you won't admit it.. Yes, of course everyone knows what the hammer and sickle stand for, and everyone also knows that while the Russians may not be communist in name now.. communism is far from dead...it's unrealistic to say otherwise.  The Ruskies hated Hilary... they love Trump.. really that says it all and any crackpot conspiracy theory otherwise is just that!

I avoid Wikipedia lol that's the FIRST time ever that you got something right.. well done.. But I never looked at wikiwhatsit.. so your, again crackpot conspiracy theories are just that..   Really, you would do better to concentrate on facts than fiction.. The Third Reich was not a *party* it was a regime. I took it from the translation.. which seemed pretty sensible but I appreciate the concept would be alien to you :P  Most of us here learn German.. I did, my sons have GCSEs in German..

    PROPER NOUN

    • The former German state, most often used to refer to the Third Reich, the Nazi regime from 1933 to 1945. The First Reich was considered to be the Holy Roman Empire, 962–1806, and the Second Reich the German Empire, 1871–1918, but neither of these terms is part of normal historical terminology.

    Origin

    German, literally ‘empire’.'

Not sure where you got your into on Nazi Germans is the common English.. we rarely refer to it as that here.. perhaps a funny American idea? We do say Germany under the Nazis.. but see we tend not to necessarily associate the German people with Nazism as you seem to? The facts re dictatorship are very relevant here.. as is the term 'period... known as the Third Reich' omg that's twice you were almost right in one day.. I'd quit while you are ahead if I were you :P

You're just simply wrong about everything that you say. (No surprise there.)

Saying that there's "ample evidence" about Trump and Russia doesn't make it so. If you actually had any evidence you would proudly show it. But you've got nothing so you can only than just allude to it, lie about it.

And all the chaf that you're trying to throw into the air about 1930's and 1940's Germany is just that, chaf. The semantics of the words make no practical difference. The Nazis, the National Socialist German Workers' Party, The Third Reich, 1930's and 1940's Germany, they all mean the same thing to the rest of the world. If you don't think so ask anyone that was a "guest" at Dachau, or Auschwitz-Birkenau, or Buchenwald, or Treblinka (oh, wait, almost no one survived Treblinka as it was just a extermination camp), or Dresden (Oh, wait; that was Great Britain that rained all that destruction on a civilian target of no military importance). But perhaps you believe that none of that actually happened?

Oh, and while you're thinking about that you can list all the active political parties that opposed those Socialists in power. No? Nothing there either?

So no, you're just way, WAY out in "left" field and you can't bear to admit the truth.

Quote, 'You're just simply wrong about everything that you say.' Oh  well lookie people the great authority on everything has spoken.. we all may as well give up now, cos clearly S&P has it covered :P Yea right and this is the man who compared the killing of 2000 to the absolute slaughter of 200 thousand and sought to glorify it..

In a similar vein you sit there and crassly point to an alleged civilian target after all YOUR country has done??? All those disasterous wars where your country wrecked havoc on so many, and senselessly killed innocent people - so much so that even your own people are disgusted? Again flower I'd quite while you are ahead here if I were you.

The terms you use, clumsily and interminglingly are the same in your eyes.. well doesn't that just say it all.. Have we read a coupla books about war and now think we know it all? I am afraid that's just sloppiness on your part.  And talking of which.. you DO know there is a difference, or was between east and west Germany - you seem a little muddled there with all your talk of socialist parties but as we have discovered before.. that ain't new :P You hoist yourself on your own petard and don't seem to see it in your oversimplistic understanding, or misunderstanding.. Pedantics matter.. accuracy matters... Nazi Germany AND Third Reich refer to a time period.. but they aren't the party.. The third reich are not a party..  The word socialist in connection with the Third Reich is a red herring, just like the People's republic  This post was edited by Adaydreambeliever at August 18, 2017 4:16 PM MDT

Few rabble rousers, huh? How many people does it take to have a lynching, or stuff a group of Jews in a gas chamber? Which IS what these twerps believe should be done.

For starters, I don't know because I haven't counted all you people that want to lynch those protesters in C-ville. How many left-wing justice warriors that hate everything that they disagree with are there out there? (By the way, I'm guessing that those "lynchings" that you're referring to were against former slaves in the southern US, carried out by the fine, upstanding Democrats down that way? Do you know how many of those occurred?)

As to the attempted extermination of the European Jews , , , that was at the hand of the Socialist government in Germany at the time. A Socialist regime that came to power because of the draconian measures forced on the German people by Great Britain (and to a lesser degree France) with such "instruments" as the Treaty of Versailles.  (In case you're as poor a study of history as most Brits seem to be that Treaty vindictively gutted the Germany economy. Measures the the Weimar "Republic" took to try to escape that economic barbarity led to the inevitable total failure of that economy and the consequent starvation of German citizens. The German people needed some form of relief, and somewhere to place the blame (it's a "human" trait, to place blame; your response to this posting demonstrates that you understand that concept all too well). Enter Hitler, who otherwise would probably have remained the Thursday night stand-up comedy act at the Munich Rathskeller for the remainder of his career.)

As to your ignorant statement saying that the protesters in C-ville WANT to lynch people and stuff jews into gas chambers . . . that appears to be what YOU want to do to them, or at least suppress their 1st Amendment Rights. If it hadn't been for the violent left wing protesters showing up it would have been a non-event. Here's a hint for you . . . KKK membership used to be in the millions in the USA but allowing them to exercise their 1st Amendment Rights showed what a joke they were and their numbers have now dwindled to around 8,000, and are dropping fast. But not to worry, Socialists on the left are always ready to step in to fill that void.
