I liked that movie. And I then read John Wyndham's novel -- LOVED that book.

Wyndham is one of my faves. Dated now, but still hugely entertaining. The Chrysalids and The Kraken Wakes were brilliant, and his The Midwich Cuckoos was later dramatized as The Village of the Damned.

I'm right there with you! I first saw the original "Village of the Damned" movie as a twelve-years old or so guy and it terrified me. And I went ot the library to find Midwich book. It remains one of my favorite books and I went on a Wyndham spree and I've read all of his stuff. He is one of my top favorite authors, too. I agree with you on everything you said! How fun!

That plot is so repeated you can call it Night of the _____ and fill in the blank with just about any noun.

Here's one about Zombie Rabbits or something.

Nope; I don't watch anything that features either zombies or vampires as a plot line.

Ditto on zombies, except Shaun of the Dead which was hilarious. Some vampire stuff was mildly entertaining, until Stephanie Meyer killed the genre stone dead with her sparkly gay ones.

Yeah, I've seen it. You're right, it was campy. It was that campy quality that made it enjoyable for me.
