Discussion»Questions»Legal» In general, how easy or difficult is it for the police to locate the driver of the suspect vehicle after a hit-and-run vehicle accident?
NO, it's not me! On the local news there was yet another report of such an accident, and the police asked the public's help in case anyone has information. ~
Doesn't matter unless there's a witness and/or a homicide or serious injury. (I've been down this road before.) Without eyewitness testimony to put the driver behind the wheel when the H&R occurred it's all circumstantial and here-say. With a homicide they'll look a bit harder for evidence but we're still back to needing that witness, or witnesses. Less than and it that it boils down to a problem for the insurance carriers.
I would NEVER leave the scene of an accident. There are phone cams everywhere and there are traffic cams everywhere. There are too many eyes with proof even if you don't have a conscience. I have a conscience and I am a big chicken so I won't be charged with this ever.
