What are some expressions that include a food item yet have nothing to do with food or with eating? ~

Examples:

Bring home the bacon.
The young airplane pilot was a real hot dog.
It's kind of cheesy not to pay your debts.

Lol, many folks speak languages other than English, you know. Some of them speak another one as their primary language, mon amie.

    I'm totally bananas.

    I'm a peach of a mugger

Don't go sour grapes on me

I'm sorry, that is a very seedy-looking establishment

I'm left with egg on my face once more

She's a hot tomato, tamale,  etc.

I'm going to milk this question for all its worth

Hey carrot-head, you with the orange hair....

That argument does not hold water

    Zest for living?

Both fish and taco are foods, so fish taco is disqualified.

Not when you put fish and taco together - but that answer should have been in AdultMug. Capiche?

Zest - citrus peel, used as a flavouring agent.

I still don't know what you're on about. Fish tacos are a delicacy here (Southern California). Zest is not.

I'm not saying you're wrong about zest, I'm only saying I'm not familiar with it except as a soap brand.

Don't want to spill the beans but teasing Randy D is my bread and butter. Though I still have to use my noodle and not put all my eggs in one basket because he's one smart cookie.

Randy, what's with these food questions? Are you crackers? They are making me nuts! I already gave the whole enchilada on your other food question and now you're asking for another piece of the pie? Your goose is cooked!

Especially since he's such small potatoes. You have to take what he says with a grain of salt.
