In the 90's we used to listen to "Dance music" sometimes and I remember picking up some older guys for work and I had this song playing in my truck and I remember them laughing at me saying "Is this what you play for girls?" LoL! Anyway, those songs sounded cool at the time, but I guess they are kinda silly. : )
LoL! I had all kinds of Dance mix CDs and we had big stereos in our trucks with subwoofers that would vibrate the seat. I liked this song at the time too. I remember partying and listening to all kinds of music in the 90's, it was fun. : )
"LISTEN" is the optimum word here. If you just listen, it isn't quite as bad. This (your) song was released in 1978 and the first music video came out at 12:01 am on August 1, 1981. So, it went to #1, in five countries, before anyone had to watch it. :))

I'm surprised that you didn't beat me to the punch then. I spent a long time trying to think of a song that was funny and yet charted as a serious piece of music.
Haha. I actually love this one. My friend had a jukebox in her basement when we were growing up and I played this song endlessly while spinning around in circles.
