So I got it wrong. Apologies. I have before. I will again. I used to avoid women chatter/clatter too as a kid. I'd go into the back room, sit by my dad and watch him and my uncles play poker. after dinner. That's how and where I learned to play. The womenfolk were always talking about husbands and kids and clothes. Boring stuff to an 8-year-old. I never said a word. I promised my dad I'd be good and he'd never know I was there. I just watched his hand and the cards he was dealt and what he said and how he played them. I was never asked to leave although I suspect my presence kinda hampered their language but I can't be certain of that. And I taught my kid how to play poker! I passed along the tradition!
