The best tip I know is to mail some money to a casino and stay home. It's cheaper that way.

Go with your gut.  The trouble is most people are not connected TO their gut.  They try and tell their gut what they want and the gut is having none of it.

I'm not addicted to gambling, if that's what you mean.  I have on occasion bet on the horses and have had remarkable success merely choosing by whether or not I like the name.  Go figure.  I will lay down a couple of dollars if the lottery gets big enough or on a scratch-off ticket.  The other day, I won $10.  Not bad for a $1.00 investment.

I went thru a phase one time. My advice is to bet on something you know about. If you follow football or basketball, and you're quite knowledgeable about it, and usually make good predictions previously without staking money, it would be your best bet to do that. I did it with soccer. I won some, I lost some. Overall, did I lose more money than I staked in total? I'd guess I broke even.
