Trump is 71 and has been a Republican for 5 years. What was he doing the rest of the time and whom was he supporting?
He switched to Republican to get elected prez because he knew Dems would never in a zillion years elect him to be dog catcher let alone prez. Why else the switcheroo so very very very late in life?
He was supporting both sides as most businesses do...so the politician owes them a favor. I don't care what he was 5 yrs ago. He is supporting and trying to pass conservative issues and laws and appoint conservative judges.
Do you also also have a diatribe to share about the scads of Democrats, Libertarians, Independents, Socialists, Marxists, Communists, Fascists, Etceterists who have also changed parties, some of them more than once? Just to be fair and balanced, you know.
It's not for us to know. That's why it's referred to as a "secret" ballot. Unless of course, you happen to be an advocate of illegal voting and it wouldn't matter anyhow. Having been raised in what was referred to as the "Solid South" in Democratic party politics and primaries, southerners practiced idolatry when it came to Democrats in public life. My father and grandfather would spin in their graves if they knew that the Democrats had become a malevolent off shoot of socialism. As for me, I saw the light over forty years ago and found redemption away from the Dems. What I'm leading up to is this: What's your point?
Trump is a liberal. A REAL liberal. I'm actually a conservative though I support him anyway because I recognize he's the last best hope for western civilization.
Trump hasn't switched at all. The political landscape has just moved left over his lifetime.
Trump is unelectable to the democratic party because most democrats are not liberals. They're socialists who call themselves liberal because it's still a somewhat dirty word in the U.S..Trump is what the democratic party used to be and should be.
