Have u ever found a horror book to be truly scary? Is that even possible?

    Scary, no. Nauseating, yes - Stephen King's "It" made me want to chunder. Not the "horror" bits, but the depraved way in which the six kids kept Pennywise down the first time. Five eleven-year-old boys taking turns gang-banging a girl the same age.

    I originally stopped reading Clive Barker's "The Great and Secret Show" because I got too scared.
     I eventually finished it. I like it a lot.
    I recently reread it and it wasn't so scary this time.

    Some of Shirley Jackson's short stories and novels are quite unsettling to me and creep me out.
