None of my 'gadgets' have ANY intelligence. All they do is create or discern 0s and 1s and transform them into audio or video  depending on what we to do with them. They just do it much faster than we do. Garbage in, garbage out.

Don't you think that is how we all respond? Isn't intelligence a response to something we already know before hand?

I only consider the intelligence of living things. Even the stupidest primate is smarter than a computer. I guess I am old school. Machines are stupid and need someone to control them.

"Equipment/gagets" are hardware. Such items are not capable of being "intelligent", yet . . .

None of them are "intelligent". Some may be capable of manipulating data at great rates, including performing difficult mathematical calculations, but they are not sentient creatures and not capable of acting as if they are.

I agree that none of the technical devices: i phones, smartphones, cellphones, tablets, laptops and computers are not intelligent. They aren't able to think on their own, develop feelings or have complex thought. They are intuitive. They can remember what you have done and use that information to help you when you send texts or emails ect.. It all depends on what you define as intelligent.
