  • Quite possibly, but even in my so far short life there's been enough 'doomsdays" to  just keep on with keepin' on and do me instead of freaking out.

The USA has been showing signs of cultural collapse since WW2. Timing and details are always random, but no nation has ever escaped a collapse once the signs began to show.

Every use of unbacked paper money has led to a financial collapse within forty years. The USA is now in the 46th year since Nixon abolished gold backing of the US$ in 1971, and in the tenth year of a slow noisy collapse, counting from the double top in S&P500 in 2007.

Financial advisers have been warning of these things since the 80s. The only difference is now the verbs are in present tense instead of future tense.

It has already begun.  The Nuclear contamination of the ocean and air from Japans idiotic decision to build a Nuclear plant over a fault line. (how stupid can you be) Whatever the supreme leader of North Korea has done to contaminate the air as well is also an ongoing problem.  The chemical dumping in the ocean from Mexico and India.  The earth can only take so much.  It will all come to an end at some point. It's really a shame humans will not be more responsible.

  • EVE - the day or period of time immediately before an event or occasion.

"Eventually ... we will be."  ... (but that song was written in 1965)
