Some folks can't stand being ignored so they do all kinds of nutty things to get attention. What is the nuttiest thing YOU ever did?

Saw a cartoon long ago. 
A little boy tells a friends that he really likes a girl but he wasn't sure how to approach her or what to say. This was his solution. "I didn't know what to say so I hit her!" Now wanting the attention of someone so much you are willing to attack the person to get it? It seems a bit over the top to me. It would not be a positive entree leading to a good relationship. Unless of course the little girl is a masochist and the little boy is sadist and they embark on a mutually beneficial acquaintanceship. Your cuppa tea?
