I'm a slow learner. Reaching out to a rude insulter and getting slapped down AGAIN. How often have you done that?

I don't turn the other cheek. I keep turning and walk away shaking my head.

D'ya ever give it another try just for the halibut Ele? I know. Once people tell you whom they are and what they are you should believe them. As I said. I'm a slow learner. You apparently are quicker. No surprise there. Thank you for your reply! :)

I have very low tolerance for both insulters and rudeness. Shaking my head, smiling and walking away confuses them. Although some insults I consider compliments. Some of my wife's friends were here for a girlie get-together. (I cooked for them.) One her friends told her she thinks I am an arrogant a$$hole. I am, so I told my wife to thank her for me.

You are too funnee hunnee! You thanked the dame via your wife? Seriously Ele? Well to be honest every once in awhile you get my hackles up but I know I do the same to you so I expect we're even on that score. So what? I'm sure it is unsettling to be thanked by someone you think you insulted. You cooked for them and this "so-called friend" called you an arrogant A**hole? I hope your wife smacked the crap out of her figuratively! I mean she ate your food and she insults you for it? Oh, right. I forgot. It wasn't an insult to you.  Anyway at the very least that woman has no manners at all, no gratitude, no nuthin'. I don't know about your wife but that dame would never be welcome in my home again had she insulted my Jim for any reason! So there! Thank you for your reply Ele. I'm shaking my head though you can't see me. :) This post was edited by RosieG at November 27, 2017 7:11 AM MST

I don't find that many people are deliberately insulting. It may be that you have expectations about how you want to be responded to and anyone who falls short is an 'insulter' in your mind. Also, if I were to find myself being insulted on a regular basis, my first instinct would be to examine my words and behaviors to determine how I might be inviting those insults.
