I lived in sweats before I moved to the tropics. I really miss the seasons; we are looking at houses in Eastern Tennessee for a mountain place for the hottest part of the Summer. I have an option on a place in Washington State that I've got to make a decision about. I need a lottery win. :)
It always looks like this, except it actually rains in the spring. I plan to wear tee shirt, short pants and zorries. We call them zorries here. And we have to shovel six feet of sunshine out of the driveway every morning.
SCIENCE LESSON: The brown coat only forms on tops of rocks. Desert varnish is the thin red to black coating found on exposed rock surfaces in arid regions. Varnish is composed of clay minerals, oxides and hydroxides of manganese and/or iron, as well as other particles such as sand grains and trace elements. Since it is formed by rain splatters and is then baked on by sun, the thickness can be measured and the age of the coating calculated from that. Nobody has conjectured what conditions might have been like before that, except in general terms. For instance, we know that rivers in those days ran east or west, whereas rivers now run south. (Nile is the only one that runs north.)
That is Castle Dome, fifty miles north of Yuma, AZ. The range was originally listed on army maps as "S. H. Mountains", the "H." standing for "House". Here is a museum right next to where my father ran a mine for twenty years: https://castledomemuseum.org/
Today is my day to volunteer at the hospital. I will wear an ugly dark red smock over black jeans and my walking shoes with a name bag dangling from a lanyard around my neck.
I'll wear a smile. Just for a while. And to look my best . Ill wear a dress. It might be small. Yet still covers all. I never wear vests. Not even in jest.
To get the gist. I wrote a list. And did my best . To re'address. The cloths I wore. That you'd adore . Now as I'm small. And not that tall. Im neither fat. Or wear weird hats. So I took the time . To respond with rhyme.. :)
