"No" ... sometimes comedians employ "artistic license" to perform to a select crowd. There's also the "sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me" viewpoint to consider. As time marches on, more and more is done that would have never been allowed decades ago.
This gentleman was kicked-off of television (The Dave Allen Show), for a time, for going beyond the accepted limits.

The Brits used to get away with racial stereotypes in their sitcoms in the 1970s, stuff they'd be crucified for if they tried it today. Nonetheless, Mind Your Language and Love Thy Neighbour were sidesplitting.
