Much better the other way around I think.....Women have always ruled over men and men have just been far to busy with preening themselves to realize it.......

They should have thier brain relocated back into their heads and learn how to think about others..... Hehe

Lilith -Adam's first wife left Adam because she rejected the idea that a man was over and above her in the missionary position. She left him to go carouse with the demons.

There was a book available some time ago that contained materials that were declined inclusion in the bible. That is where that story comes from. I forget the title and author -I tried to order it but has been out of print now.for some time.

They were not included because they were known to be wrong. Also they never say what book it is in...just a book of the Jewish Apopcapha.   This post was edited by my2cents at December 21, 2017 6:17 AM MST

  • You just finished creating a "one-of-a-kind" project
and your neighbor destroys it, telling you,
"You're better off without out it." ... What happens next?

You start over again maybe doing things different in a way but using similar materials.

Would not have changed much....someone would still have found a way to mess it up.
I don't believe murdering Eve would have had good results.

God could have made a new wife for Adam by cutting off a certain part of his anatomy as punishment for murder and for making a new lady instead of taking another rib.

No. Adam could have refused to eat of the fruit. But murder does not work.

Would have made for a more compelling fable. But in the very sight of god’s direct supervision, how would this failure of his creation reflect on our view of divine omnipotence?

Think of it, how different divorce customs might be.

If Adam and Eve were created perfect, how could they screw up in the first place?
The all perfect God seemed to have screwed up from the get go.
There is something wrong with this picture.

The bible story writers thought it necessary that The Creator be portrayed in the nature of a perfect being but they had to find some way to explain how sin, suffering and death entered the world.
Make it look like it was man's fault of course.

    It's called passing the buck.
People almost always blame the parents when their kids screw up so why should God be any different?
He created them so he is responsible for how they turned out.

A creator can only achieve what is within his/her/it's capacity to  do. What would be wrong with believing in a God that is not perfect?

I would have no problem with him not being perfect.
At least we would know why there are so many screw ups in life.

What I find abhorrent about this episode is that newborns in Christianity are held to account for Adam’s failure. The Catholics call it “original sin”, and to me it’s THE most sickening premise of these false doctrines. That we are born “unclean”, and remain so until we submit to their silly deception of Baptism. Religion attacks our most basic integrity, that we are unalteringly born sick and commanded to be well...

"If Adam and Eve were created perfect, how could they screw up in the first place?"
excellent question, LM, but the answer is right there in Genesis, only trouble is all who read Genesis do so already "knowing" the story so they do not see what Genesis is effectively saying. Adam and Eve did not know right from wrong.

The act of disobedience and disrespecting God by eating of the forbidden fruit would have been handled by God himself. No need for Adam to get involved, especially committing murder.

In ancient times it was fairly common to kill people for disobedience/disrespecting God. Maybe Adam might have  thought that was the wise thing to do to please God rather than partaking in disobedience with Eve.
