If it were not for religion and politics -as well as proper spelling & punctuation- what could be proof that humans are a civilized species?

Sorry but I feel we are failing miserably in that respect, yes some of us do care, even more care when they become 'endangered', virtually none give a flying fcuk when it is too late. the compassion you speak of is very rare, if you spread it across the board but if we wish to be considered as 'human' even after all we have done to destroy, we must start to do what you suggest makes us different.
