    Electrocuted to death is redundant.
Sounds like a Darwin Award top ten.

Not really---one can be electrocuted and only injured, not killed.

The word 'electrocute' is a contraction coined by the media during the AC/DC war between Tesla and Edison. An Elephant was purposely executed with AC current by Edison's faction to show the dangers of AC. The word was contracted from 'electrical execution'. But I did look it up and it did say injured even though its original meaning meant death.

A problem lately with the English language---the extension of the word is increased and then we lose its comprehension.

In the instant and related cases, I would consider this "devolution."

    Not all change is beneficial.

And rechargeable batteries are never used in sex toys -for a reason.

Sex toys generally use one or two single C or D cells. That is three volts. Inserting one that is water-tight whilst in the tub would be harmless. If it were not water-tight it would probably short out and stop working.

I figured somebody would give me this response. 20 years as an Electronics Technician in the Navy. And personal experience, of course. The toy is usually put some place wet, but I am pushing the limit here.

I never take my phone in the bathroom anyway. I don't want icky germs getting all over it and I want to get out of the bathroom as soon as possible. Don't these people see the headlines of other people getting electrocuted in the tub thanks to a charging phone? That would be enough to make me paranoid about that and avoid doing it.
