In 2001 I bought a ticket to watch a movie, the one about "One Ring" or something. It was so dark that I couldn't enjoy the flick at all. I found out later that happens because the theater uses a digital lens, whatever that is, and it only works right when you have a copyrighted flick and the proper permissions to show it. Apparently it's a lot of work to remove the dum thing for non-copyrighted flicks, and the lens makes the show dark in that case. So I decided I am not going to pay to support such bullsnot, and I have not gone to a theater since.
