Spoken by a true genius.  What a thinker.  Keep thinking, I'm fascinated by this original take on things.

@Shar -- Perhaps the person asking the question is genuinely confused by the spiritual doctrines she understands and is NOT pontificating?

I know many such "questions" are often an excuse for Bible-thumping or denial of the divine, but that may not be the case this time.

Congratulations!  You've stumbled on a question which people have been asking for at least ten thousand years (give or take a millennium or two).  If you get an answer by all meanslet us know. (Bad news: a guy named Job asked his butt off and got...squat. :-))

...Ahem.  Otherwise, my particular take is that He values free will enough to let us choose our own paths.  Unfortunately, one of the byproducts of free will is evil.  It is not the only byproduct, but still...

Edit: Oh, and BTW, you're also not the first person to be pissed at God.  Trust me on that.

    1. First, that is not God.
    2. God is good. God is love.
    3. When bad things happen, there are reasons for it. Some things you can control, some, you can't.
    4. God is the creator. In creating, he also destroys.

On the chance that this is a sincere question and that you have an open mind, I will post a link with a scriptural answer:

ermm... who exactly is doing the letting? Is He doing the letting or are WE doing the letting? Is He letting our billions of dollars go into developing more efficient and lethal WMDs instead of being used to help the world develop at an equal pace, or are WE? Is He letting our war machines go thousands of miles to bomb the daylights out of third world countries we're sure can never do the same to us, or are WE? Is He pushing the world into endless destructive confrontations instead of mutually respectful constructive cooperation, or are WE? Wonder who's messing up the world and then looking for a scapegoat? I wonder.

I can only imagine you're going through a really rough time.. and I have had the same thoughts myself when things are really tough... and they pass when things get better... or when we have accepted that some things will never change, like chronic illness in my case.

I cant give you a answer..I've never found one.. but most people have thought and asked exactly the same thing, so you're not alone.

I really hope things get better for you. Good luck :)

    God ain't jive
For I can see his love
    As it runs alive
    One by one
    Through fields of rusted wire
    The war has just begun
Oh, cross over shame like the wise dove
Who cares not for fame just for shy love
Rejoice for the king ain't lost his throne, oh no
He's still here, you are not alone

    Correct your heads
For there's a new song rising
    High above the waves
    Go write your time
Go sing it on the streets
Go tell the world, but you go brave
Oh my sweet instant Christian you are such a sly clown
Too many questions, no replies now
Rejoice for the king ain't lost his throne, oh no
He's still here, you are not alone

    I got an idea
    Go tell the superstar
All his hairs are turning grey
    Star-spangled fear
    As all the people disappear
    The limelight fades away
'Cos if you think you are a star
For so long they'll come from near and far
But you'll forget just who you are....
    You ain't the nazz
    You're just a buzz
    Some kinda temporary

Cross over shame like the wise dove
Who cares not for fame just for shy love
Oh-oh, my sweet instant Christian you are such a sly clown
Too many questions, no replies now
Rejoice for the king ain't lost his throne, oh no
He's still here, you are not alone, you are not alone.

Probably because humans are so obnoxious.

I suspect God feels similar to the parent that tells their kid: "Don't do that, you'll get hurt or hurt someone else" repeatedly only for the kid to do it, hurt themselves or someone else and then come back crying as if they hadn't the slightest clue this would be the result. If God spoke to us it would likely be to say: "See, I told you." Maybe he'd channel some Monty Python: "I warned you, but did you listen? Oh, noooo!"

Course, it could also be that humans are just jacked up in their heads and have no omnipotent to blame for the stupid stuff they do and the completely obvious consequences of such.

    We make it happen.
God does not control everything...we do. We have free will.
If we will listen to Him, He can protect us from the evil others do.

So, in summary, God is the Quintessential Libertarian who operates by His own version of the Prime Directive.

There is biological evidence that the first part of the human body to form is the terminal anus.

And, given that humans are allegedly made in God's image...well, what does that tell you?....;-D...

God is very  good. "How can you escape if you neglect such a great salvation" God came down and took humanities sins on his shoulders so we can have all our sins forgiven and go to heaven. God did not have to do that for us. We don't deserve it. God is Holy, and so loving. We are all sinful, and selfish. We are not always loving.!No sin can enter heaven. We are separated from God forever. But Jesus forgives all our sins so we can go to heaven and also so we can have a new heart and walk with the Holy Spirit He will bless us and give us joy if we repent, and believe in him. Is is too much for us to humble ourselves when Almighty God humbled himself and was punished and died for us on the cross? The Father found Jesus guilty and he took our sins away in our stead. If we love him he will bless us so much. Please ask him for wisdom what is truth! He will show you truth! He blesses me so much nowadays. I wasn't always blessed.

    Little is known
    And apparently sewn
    into confusion here
    ...but God is within you
    Look beyond your thoughts
    and see yourself
    Through His eyes.
