What's a popular food people eat that you would never touch, even if someone offered to pay you to eat it?

You know, I bet if I suddenly couldn't smell it, I would like the taste.  I know...makes little sense.

That actually makes perfect sense, they say most of our taste is from smell.
I smell everything before I eat.

Brussel spouts are like that for me as well.  The smell is strong, but to me, they taste pretty good if cooked right.

Macaroni and cheese. I know everyone else loves it, but it looks like a plate of maggots to me.

Me too, I like to add a can of tuna to it. I am the only one in the house who likes it so I don't have to share. Lol

Actually, I dislike all pasta except for spaghetti. I know that doesn't make sense.

Is it a texture thing? I understand that. I don't like regular spaghetti,  I only use angel hair noodles for my spaghetti.

Frogs legs. They look so disgusting. I worked in a restaurant where I prepared them in front of the customer. But I never ate them myself. The frogs legs I mean. I've eaten snails though.

*shudders* I wouldn't touch either of those.
    What were the snails like?

Well, the snails didn't look like snails any more. Just a paste that  had been put back in their shells, so that's why I had the courage to eat them. But they were strongly flavoured with garlic, so they tasted more like garlic than anything else. But I suppose it all depends onhow they're cooked.

  • I agree!  Anytime you have to bury something under something else to be able to eat it ... it can't be good!

Slow cooked beef. Especially the kind that's chewy and fatty with overcooked vegetables, covered in a greasy kind of stewy liquid.

    Vegemite

(has a long history of controversy. Made from the yeast extract left over from breweries, the spread’s salty, bitter flavor has been dividing Australians for decades. Whether you’re a hater, a devotee, or a Vegemite virgin, these savory facts will give you newfound appreciation for Australia’s unofficial foodstuff.)

All us Aussies are raised on the stuff. The mistake you Seppos make is to slather it on as thick as the bread, like it was peanut butter or Nutella. It's not supposed to be eaten that way, the trick is to spread it thin.

Mexican food without guacamole (mostly avocado) is unthinkable.

Oh no.  I love the Mexican food sans guacamole.  I like to make burritos at home these days because I can do them just like I want them.  No meat, lots of beans, cheese, salsa, onion, sour cream.   I go out for everything else Mexican...about twice a year.  My fella doesn't really like Mexican cuisine so I try to go when he's not around.
