  • I used to work in a call center kind of job (I no longer do).  There was this one girl whom would always come in late, and when she was there would never work.  I mean, for example I would get probably 50-60 calls/things done, while she would come in with 6 calls to make on her queue, and would end the day with...6 calls in her queue.   I have no idea what she would do during the day, but it was never work.  She spent all of her time monitoring when anyone else was off task, as well as learning in ins and outs of the policies at the company, such that she could show up and do as little work as possible.  The craziest part about is was the fact that she was never fired.   Horrible management I guess.  She was one of the reasons I left that job actually.

When I worked in positions outside my home, I always seemed to get liars and thieves in positions above me. I had one boss that dummied up deposit slips and claimed he went to the bank, but kept the money. When I worked at Blockbuster, I had a manager who took an expensive box set from a TV show and hid it in the office. He'd count it for inventory, but because none of the discs ever rented out, the system thought it was unpopular and generated an order for us to sell it at a used price. He ended up buying a $120 set for maybe $20. And then there was the doctor I worked for who dealt arms out of the office- real assault rifles and stuff. O_o In my job as an assistant, I was expected to bring his gun buyers into the consultation rooms and then bring them the gun they came to see. That was pretty wild. I did not last long there at all.

That would be me and I don't want to talk about it.

There was one guy I remember at a job I worked at that had me beat by several miles.  He was found OD'd in the men's john on heroin.

    I thought he died.

About a year later I was working at another job and told this guy next to me about that incident when a similar subject came up.  Guess what he said?  You are not going to believe it.

He said.  I know, that was ME.    It was HIM.   Well at least he lived to tell me about it.

  • I work with engineers ... they can be creative ... I saw once at a coffee break a guy who drank black tea from a metal mug ... he poured his tea then got called away for a moment ... one of the other guys poured the tread back into the tea pot, grabbed an electric screwdriver and a metal screw and screwed the mug to the desk and poured the tea back in... total elapsed time was no more than 20 seconds ... and then we waited ... one of the funniest things I've ever seen
