How old were you when you had your first mobile phone? Who was the first person you called, and who was the first person to call you?

I had my first mobile phone in 2003, when I was 31. I rang home on the landline and spoke to my father. The first call I received was from my mother within a minute from the same landline. All very exciting.

First call to husband: first call from husband.
Still not skilled at managing it = understatement.
    I hate it.

2003, age 57. I was driving limos and the company had just switched from radios to cellphones. I didn't understand why someone thought a cellphone should include a camera, but they all did.

I bought a phone for personal use. It cost $65 and it was so feeble that I couldn't hear the ring if I put it in my pocket, and there was no place to hang it except in the belt pouch that came with it, and that was so flimsy that it broke off and was lost almost immediately.

You had a camera phone in 2003? I did not even know they existed in 2003. I also got my first then just the basic Nokia.

    41.  It came free in a new car.  I didn't activate it until my daughter became licensed to drive because I had no reason for such an irritating thing.  I wore a pager which is a wonderful little thing.  I didn't then, nor do I now, need to be accessible 24/7.  That is a crazy notion.

I have never had a mobile phone. When I get asked my cell number I respond with what I already said in the Adult Section.

Randy, to be honest, that comment was simply my way of separating the men from the boys.

I was young... it had to be like 1999 or 2000 because I was still in high school. I'm sure the first calls were to the home landline- just checking it out to see how it worked. It would have been me on both lines.
