I don't really care about struggling or destiny. S*** happens.

I don’t believe in preset fate, or certain destiny. No skein of our lives exists before we live it.
In my view, the longer we live, we earn our way, one way or another to our place in life. We put ourselves in position to rise or fall or stagnate, complicated by endlessly random interactions with the outside world (S— happens)

I know first-hand that the fruits of hard work and long study include the life of one’s own vision. In my case, this was not a foregone conclusion when I was a child. It became reality by sustained effort.  This post was edited by Don Barzini at February 2, 2018 5:40 PM MST

I think it was meant be that I should

struggle against all odds to get what I want in life.

And guess what?  Against all odds I did get a lot the the things I wanted in life!!!!!!!!

To me, those two choices are not even related. They don't go together as opposites or whatever.

And I'm too tired to explain.
    Sorry.

All the effort in the world is no guarantee one will get what one wants. (In my opinion.) And I don't necessarily equate struggling with "against all odds."

I do believe that many times  "it is what it is" as opposed to "what will be will be."
As far as "it is what it is" -- please, everyone, don't crucify me on that like I got crucified the last time I said it.

And none of this is a critique of your question, Truthseeker.
    :)
    It's a good question.

I ended up explaining myself OK I guess.
    Ha!

You are asking if life is inflicted upon us, and you assume it is.

The only people who have to struggle are the ones not given an adequate upbringing and taught how to do things without the struggle.
