No. I haven't been asked for my ID by the police since I was a teenager. The last time I used it was at the notary, I believe.

I had to show it the other day.  It was for ....WOW JA, I don't even remember.  It was not a bad reason.  It was verification and they wanted that .    I just cannot remember why they needed that particular one.  It was probably my bank.  My brain is going.

  • Believe it or not...I had to provide my license to buy beer the other day at RIte-Aid.

They have a policy about asking EVERYONE for ID to purchase Alcohol or Tobacco and the clerk was a bit over-zealous.

I was happy to oblige :)

Just last week, a cop thought I was Sharonna Harris. I offered my license so fast his head almost spun off. I can't take a chance on inviting THAT much aggravation into my serene life. Harrumph!

I show it a lot. Just not to vote, because when it comes to voting, we know people wouldn't cheat.

    Two most recent times:

At TJ's while buying a couple bottles of "Two-Buck-Chuck". Apparently they wanted to verify my eligibility for the senior citizens discount?

Time before that was to gain legitimate access to a highly restricted building. (Already on the "Access" list, just had to do a routine verification of my identity.)

I had to show a photo ID along with my insurance card when getting medical treatment. I also seem to recall having to provide it so that they could run a background check before I starting volunteer work at the hospital.
