    Hyphens are not separated by spaces, while a dash has a space on either side.

    Looks like a dash to me.

    A hyphen and a dash are distinctly different punctuation marks. Whether or not a person (correctly or incorrectly) places a space on either side of the mark is more a question of use or style.
