I love ratties. They've always been my little buddies growing up. They're actually pretty smart and can have great personalities. I had one rat who would escape from her cage at night and I'd wake up to her climbing up my blanket then she'd curl up with me. She was such a sweet little rat and she lived well into her old age. I remember I chose her because she was being picked on by all the other ratties and I felt bad for her, I used to get picked on in school for being so meek so I felt her pain.

This is simply the hardest question ever, Welby! I cannot choose.
My avatar gives a hint to one of my favorites. But, if I had to choose only one, I suppose it would be canis lupis familiaris (domestic dog). I can't imagine life without them!
That sort of looks like a Chow in there. I like that breed of dog. :) Frogs and unicorns are nice, too.

Tribes people often keep anteaters for pets and guard animals. An ant eater can roar like a lion, and the forearms are powerful enough to rip logs open, so they are formidable when protecting their homes. You would not want one for a pet because if there is a termite in your house, the little beast will tear the house apart to get it.
You're right - - I'd never want one of as a pet. :)
I just like everything about them, though, I admit I don't know that much. I do know how strong they are. But I like them most, i think, on their looks -- so unlike any other kind of animal. and strange, yes. :)
