Father painted houses as did his father and his father. My great grandfather did some really high class stuff as far back as the late 1800s. In the 60s, I painted the fence around an American President's grave. As my father and uncles painted the estate of that President, my cousin carefully repainted the dollhouse of the Presidential daughter. Very fine detail.

My maternal and paternal grandmothers were both homebodies. My paternal grandfather died in 1923, when my father was quite young, or he would most likely have entered the business - yacht-building and repairing. As it was, my father went into electronics research.
