Exchanging them for Russian or Asian mail order brides should do the trick.

Hi Kitti!  I've missed you and a lot of people here.  I've taken a break for a while.  I've been focusing on getting my house fixed up to put on the market in a month or so.  Hope you are doing well.

LM, yes it is.  I'm trying to be optimistic about it.  Dealing with some anxiety over it.

Making changes is not easy when we get older.

Thanks Kitti.  It's still going to be hit or miss for me here but eventually, when I get myself settled, it should be easier.

Offer what you want, people will not disarm themselves.  Not in America.

Probably not unless some effective way to treat the withdrawal symptoms is discovered.

Possibly you could tell them that if there are fewer guns in circulation, fewer children would be massacred. Oh, wait, never mind.

That wouldn't be the truth.  Even if guns were completely outlawed we would simply have a very healthy black market for firearms.  We don't want that!!!   As long as we have zombie kids like Cruz this will happen.  These people will grow into adults and the rage will shift to whatever institution that they perceive to have not accepted him/her/it.  It may still be schools in some cases, so we should not be surprised when the shooters start including older people.  Society and parents created this problem by trying to crush the stable marriage and family, by embracing any technology that came along with no regard to how children might be hurt by it, and by allowing children to take heavy duty mental illness medications that have side effects of violence and suicide.  It really is not a mystery but we don't like the answer.    Sorry you got my rant today.  I just happened to be right here.  :) This post was edited by Thriftymaid at July 11, 2020 7:58 AM MDT

I don't disagree.  I wasn't intending to say this was a solution, just giving a literal answer to the question. It's just an incentive that might cause some people to think about whether they really want to keep their guns.

Guns can always be turned in to the police if someone doesn't want them. Or they can be gifted to others.  There have been departments who paid for turned in guns........seems like I've heard of $100 per gun regardless of what it was.  This was on the local news lately.

Why not threaten to imprison them?  Or just execute all of them?  Because they are not good people right?  Maybe you think gun owners don't deserve to live?    Or you could buy all their guns so they could take the proceeds and go out and buy bigger guns.

Could just place them in treatment centers where they can deal with the symptoms of giving up their addiction to owning guns.

Buy them back at the going rate......and then destroy them rather then sell them on to be used in another country to kill or maime again...

  • Pay the full price for the gun's value as compensation.
It worked in Australia with spectacular success.

In America gun addiction might be a more serious problem than Australia so gun owners might nrequire  treatment for withdrawal symptoms.
